Jagged Alliance 2 Item Editor (JA2IE)
-------------------------------------

Hey yas,

now something new and fresh from Cortexx and me.
Cortexx decided some months ago to write a new item editor, due to missing time he cut the project and gave me the sources. Unfortunately I wasn't able to work with them due to missing files.
And I cut the project because of that. Well, yesterday I got the exe for JA2 Goldpack and wanted to do some weaponediting, so I checked cortexx's editor out. And I was impressed again, so I tried the sources again without any luck. That lead me to resource hacking. I disabled several menu-entries which are housing imcomplete functions, moved some entries that didn't fit well, created a new about-box and changed the design a little bit.

Now to the handling.

Before Running JA2IE.exe!
=========================
If you haven't installed the Microsoft XML Parser yet, do so by running the included file msxml3sp2setupGer.exe (german) or msxml3sp2Setup.exe (english). Both files are located in the program's directory in the folder Microsoft XML Parser.
You need another language version of the MS XML Parser? Go to: http://msdn.microsoft.com/xml/default.asp

Open An Exe, Edit It And Save Changes
=====================================
Select File -> Open Exe or presss F3. Select a JA2 exe which either needs no decryption or already is decrypted. Select any item you wish to edit and use the info-boxes on the right.

After editing your exe choose File -> Save Exe or press F4.

Additional Info
===============
You need a copy of your ITEMDESC.EDT in the program's folder, otherwise you will not be able to edit itemdescriptions, nor view the names of any item. This package contains the original ITEMDESC.EDT from the 1.03 US version.

Other Included Tools
====================
OffsetFind - This tool allows you to open a JA2 exe and scan it for weapon tables etc. Needed to add new versions into JA2IE. Save the output into the versions folder of JA2IE.
MS XML Parser - This is a must need, because several parts of JA2IE use XML.

Have Fun,
